ADAPT PROJECT
TITLE

TexNet - Reorganisation and Vocational Development for the Purpose of Creating an IT-based Network in between the Textile Chain

TexNet Logo - Designed by Juergen Reckfort

BACKGROUND

An important strategy for the European Textile and Clothing industry to defend its international competitiveness is to create a flexible and quick responding client-supplier-network in between the textile chain by using information technology (IT). In the German textile sector, using IT is, however, at present an exception, especially regarding SMEs of the textile industry.

OBJECTIVE

The project aims to develop an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) based online communication network for a system of enterprises covering different textile production levels.

TARGETS
  • Impart knowledge about potentials and newest developments of IT applications - individually and through regular transfer workshops,

  • Support interested enterprises to rationally decide about the introduction of IT applications and provide qualified technical and organizational know-how,

  • Prepare the affected employees before and during the implementation process through adequate measures of vocational training.
